I have been stalking a certain chair for months, waiting for it to go on sale. I love the look and want it very badly for my office. While doing my weekly check up on it, I found a black version that is on a GREAT sale! a real steal. I do not want or need black, but it would be great in an office with black furniture
It is normally $134.99 but is currently on sale for $69.99. You can find it here.
and if you get it, let me know!

pots and pans
ever since I got married in 2005, I desperately wanted some Calphalon cookware. We registered for it and a cheap set as well, just in case no one could afford the Calphalon set. We got the cheap set and did not receive the Calphalon. It was okay. We were really very poor and never expected anyone to get the expensive set for us anyway. We've faithfully used our craptastic pots and pans coming up on 4 years. I want to replace them, but I still don't have the money to just splurge on a full set. So I decided maybe piece by piece would be the best way. I asked for my first piece for Christmas and I got a 10" frying pan. That set the wheels in motion and made me want more even more than before. I found out that the one I got had been purchased at Marshalls at a deeply discounted price.
So this weekend I found myself at Marshalls digging through things. I found so many great things with good prices but talked myself out of every single thing because I didn't really NEED it. One thing I did not talk myself out of, however, was a Calphalon 12" frying pan. I found one in a special little cart that was even extra off their discounted prices. It had a few scratches on the bottom of it, but what did I care about that? It was perfect in every other way and looked like it would have no problem cooking my food.
I snatched up this frying pan you can find at Bed Bath and Beyond here for $94.99
Only I got my slightly scratched up version for $25. I think I can handle a few scratches on the outside bottom of the pan for that price ;)

Living room re-do on the cheap
I just wanted to share a little mood board I put together courtesy of Polyvore (such a fun thing). The urge struck me to re-design my mom's living room for her. Just something fun for me to fill some time with. Here is what I came up with:
To get the full break-down of everything in the room, click here.
you might recognize a lot of the stuff from the Target home design event, and you may recognize my little candle holder from the previous post. I just couldn't resist picking it up for myself.
what surprises me was how many fun and stylish things I found at Walmart! They are really upping their game! Like that lamp.. I LOVE that lamp, and I love the price as well.
The best part about this whole room? everything combined on that board, including the furniture, is under $1000. An entire room make-over, on the cheap. It's probably even less now, with the home design stuff on 50% off.
Let me know what you think. Is it a good room for the price?

sorry guys!
It's been so long that I'm not even sure that anyone even reads this anymore. We've had some major life switch-ups and I've been watching my fun spending more than usual. But we are moderately back on track and I wanted to share a few things with you guys!
first of all, I hope you all have been well and shopping the deals! Have you guys seen the Target home design event? They have some great little finds in there! Right now at our stores they are 50% off which makes all of their stuff MUCH more affordable. Between me and you, I think they had a pretty high mark-up to begin with so I wasn't even planning on snagging anything at 35% off. I waited until 50% and boy was it worth it. Between two separate Targets, I was pretty much able to get almost everything I wanted from the event.
I picked up the large version of this candle holder for $6 and some change
I also picked up an apothecary jar for my guest bathroom at $7 and some change
They had a smaller version I wanted as well but I did miss out on that.
my biggest purchase and best deal out of the whole thing though, was a shelf I picked out for my bathroom.
I picked this up for just under $50. I really wanted something like this for our bathroom and when I priced similar options, they were always more expensive and were not QUITE the look I was going for. There may be one left at 75% off later on, but I doubt it. I wasn't willing to risk it this time considering that I had to go to another Target to even get it at 50%.
so what do you think? did I do well? Did you score anything great at the event that you want to share? I saw some cute lamps that I just didn't have the need for, but did anyone else get them?
